Our story

Welcome to Ephora, where we are dedicated to radically transforming the unsustainable textile industry with our innovative and circular fabric made from used jute bags.

Our journey began with a specialty coffee importer who faced a challenging dilemma at the end of its supply chain. When coffee beans were imported into the Netherlands, a substantial amount of waste was generated and sent to incineration, including large multi-layered plastic bags and jute bags.

Recognizing that there was further value in these materials, our partnership with this customer began. At Ephora, we are committed to finding new pathways for creating value for the material that would otherwise be labeled as "waste".

As a company, we understand that many countries around the world rely heavily on imported food products. The packaging required to safely transport products across long distances is an essential service that cannot be undermined. Therefore, we took this challenge as an opportunity to push limits and find alternative uses, scalable solutions, and additional value in jute import bags.

Our team is developing an innovative fabric made from used jute bags, which are typically discarded after a single use. By repurposing these bags, we can reduce waste and create a more sustainable and circular textile ecosystem.

We believe that sustainability should be at the forefront of everything we do. By embracing circular design principles, we can create products that are not only environmentally friendly but also socially and economically responsible. Our jute-based fabric is just one example of our commitment to creating a more sustainable future for all.

Thank you for visiting our website. We invite you to learn more about our innovative fabric and join us in the journey towards a more sustainable and circular textile industry.
